Hey Mikalee
Your truck has obd-II, and you will need a scantool to read the codes. I dont know about the auto parts stores in your state, but AutoZone, Advance auto parts and others will read the codes for free for you in our state. If you have them read, come post them back here so we can see whats going on. what engine, and how many miles do you have on the Explorer. The more details the better. Good luck.
