The diesel tech and the Ford dealer tested my fuel pump and it was not outputing. They replaced the pump ($594 including tow and tax). This WAS a job I should have done myself (a lot cheaper), but I needed the truck fast and didn't have time to work on it. I just drove it from the dealer to work and she ran just fine. I hope she keeps starting for me in the next few days, b/c these problems can be intermittent and could pop up again. I REALLY hope it was my fuel pump and the problem is REALLY solved. I'll keep ya'll posted.
Thanks,
This fully illustrates that before you go chasing electrical gremlins you need to be sure that the fuel is there. No fuel, no run. Some or weak fuel delivery, seems to be electrical and the chasing your own tail can begin.
I'm suppose to be getting my IDM today. Overnighted from Florida. Local Ford Dealer here had one in stock for just $750. I purchased one for $349.
Man I hate to break it to you but you probably got robbed by that dealer in Florida. If the company name was Auto Computer Exchange then your problem is still the IDM module. That guy buys IDM modules really cheap but he has no way of testing them to see if they work or not. He also advertises that he is rebuilding them and that is a lie.
I had a customer call me the other day who used him for his repair service. He sent him a really expensive board to be repaired and ACE sent back the wrong board. When the guy called them they said they would give him a refund. The problem is the board they sent back is a really cheap board. They just blatently robbed the guy. I told him to call the police. Now the guy can't even send in his board to be repaired because he has no board. They are so rare it will cost him $500 for a replacement.
That's just one of many many complaints I hear every week about that guy. If you are local you should try to get your idm tested and if it is bad then demand a refund. He probably won't offer you one. If he does not then you should get local law enforcement involved.
