This is where my memory has failed me. For the life of me I can not recall what starter I used on the 460 motor with a 390 flywheel. I am pretty sure that I used the 351M/400 starter because the car 460 starters have a soleniod motor to the starter.
If you have the old flywheel from the 460 just count the ring teeth and compare the count to the 390 flywheel. If the same then the starter will work fine.
