In case some of you regulars have/haven't noticed I have been MIA for awhile, on Aug 25 I had a minor stroke. It was indeed minor, it was over in a few minutes and I never lost conciousness. I was very lucky it could have been a lot worse, I am at home resting comfortably and recovered about 95% of my faculties (probably more than I had before) and have enough sick leave/vacation to carry me thru the first of Oct. With that being said you can never have too many friends, on the first Sunday after this happened some guys from the FatFenderedFord club of Tucson showed up at my shop, DA'd my whole truck back to bare metal and WD-40 the whole thing to keep it from rusting until I get back. another friend (machinist) brought me a billet aluminum cane, drilled just like an early Ford axle, ball milled for looks and has an inlaid wood handle. I am the hit of the cardiologist's office with this baby. I have received so many cards and phone calls and offers of help that it is overwhelming. You just can't have enough friends and I'm well enough to tell about it now. Thanks to all
I hate to hear of your illness but I'm glad to hear of your recovery. Your experience with the people of this hobby is why I think there is nothing that can compare with it. Keep getting better so you can get back in the toolbox!
Dang, Tim - it is almost worth a small stroke to get a cane like that!
And, you don't get friends like yours by accident - you get the friends you deserve. You have helped a lot of us and I am sure anyone of us would jump at the chance to pay some of that back!
Hey Man; I'm relatively new to this Forum, but I know what you mean when you say you can't have too many friends. I'm glad to hear you are doing well and I hope this little bump in your road proves to be small and insignificant. Get well !!!
Tim-
Really sorry to hear about the stroke. These life situations seem to help put things into perspective for us and to realize who are friends are and how important they are. Glad to hear you are making a speedy recovery and I look forward to an update on your fabulous 56. Take care.
