Has anybody else had a problem with their oil filter cap leaking.I have change the oil.The dealer has changed the oil.I bought a new cover .Had the dealer change it again.Seems like one of us would have gotten it torqued correctly.Always blows oil up on the underside of the hood. Not a lot and probably not enough to hurt anything, but it aggravates me.Wonder if the filter housing casting is out of tolerance?
Oil Filter Lid Leaks:
To prevent leaks from the oil filter cover, be sure to replace the sealing o-ring when performing oil changes. Torque the cover to 18 ft/lbs. If leaks continue to occur, check the housing for burrs and the lid for damage. If using an aftermarket filter, try a factory one. Broadcast Message 3403.

i bet the oil "leak" is actually coming out of the cac boot at the turbo. here oil vapor is pressurized with the boost and yes it does come out of the boot. they redesigned the boot to help this.
the oil filter housing may get wet around oring but it will never make it to the hood. no enough pressure.
Well,It's a 2005.Has 11500 miles on it.I usually drive it when I am hauling a tractor. It seems to do it worse at higher rpm and boost pressure.Takes it several hundred miles ,but it will get the bottom of the hood and the cowling at the top of the firewall oily. But,it leaks to slow to see where it is coming from.
