No, it is easy to adjust. Take the lower panel off that is under the steering collumn and look up on the passenger side of the steering column. There should be a small piece of white plastic with a black thumb wheel attached. There will be a small cable coming out of the top that is hooked to the shifter. Just turn that thumbwheel to adjust it. Try moving the shifter with the vehicle off through all gears.
