That post recommends running the engine while filling with a garden hose? Really? I've always used Distilled Water in my radiator. To do this, I drain the radiator, fill it up with distilled water, Run the engine for a minute, and repeat until the water is clear. Then drain and add the proper mixture of AntiFreeze.
hkiefus, would you agree that that is better than using water from your garden hose?
At the very least, I would drain the hose water and refill with distilled after I was done with the method mentioned in the mentioned link...
Is this just "old school thought", or is distilled water better?
distilled water has less minerals like iron deposits and other thing that cause havoc in a cooling system, but for flushing tap water is fine. but when filling use distilled.
