I have a 49 Ford flathead V8. On the oil pan cleanout plate, are there gaskets for that or do you just use silcone to put it back on? The same question for the oil drain plug?
If you have the large drain plug 1 1/2", Mac's Antique Auto Parts - Lockport, NY has the gasket in their 32-48 car/truck cataolg. pn V6734B
For the cleanout ring, I made my own from gasket material - and it has constantly leaked. Next time I have it apart and all cleaned I plan to try silicone. Not much to loose. It is possible that Joblot Automotive might carry them, but I've never been able to find it in their catalog.
Both place are online and will send you a catalog.
I bought a full-engine gasket set (Victor Reinz) and I'd swear it came with the truck pan gaskets for the sump. I'll check when I get home. I don't run a truck pan (maybe the best idea!) so if I have them, I'll see if I can scan them so that you have a pattern.
