IIRC they are quick connects and require a special tool. Are these the ones you can see through the wheel well?

Yes & thank you, the previous owner put some cold weld into the fitting, "one of those quick fix" so I had to cut the line & replaced it with hose & climps. With my luck, I found a big pond of fuel under my turbo, any Idea where I should look for?

Thank you

sounds like the fuel pump is toast. it usually leaks out the weep hole when it goes on the under side of pump.

You're right! Oh Lord, I just bought this truck 2 weeks ago & problems are building up, but I love this truck, it rides very nice, lots of power & best of all is the fuel consumption, it gets approx 19 us mpg "45% hwy & 55% city driving" and it's with leaking fuel lines & the pump. I can wait to see what's mpg after repair. Anyway, I hope I will not have any major proble to replace the pump.

Thanks

nope its pretty easy. just make sure you turn the motor over to get it to unseat out of the bore so the tappet doesnt fall into the crank case.
in english please...

ok the fuel pump is a mechanical one. there is a lobe on the cam. a tappet rides on this lobe and goes into the fuel pump. it sometimes falls out when tryin to remove fuel pump. be careful. i used a 24mm socket on the fron of the crank to turn the motor over. make sure to buy the banjo gaskets and new blue hoses.

It's not too hard to replace unless you have a california truck, then the turbo has to come off, PITA, but still do-able. Be sure to pay attention to what 1997F-350 says. Make sure the fuel pump lifts up with rotating the motor. If the tappet falls into the engine, well you get the picture.

Hey 1997F350, could you send me that link for the step by step on how to replace that fuel pump. Also I looked up that pump, and I can order it for around $120 form Ford, but was wondering what hoses you were talking about that I need to replace.

Thanks

there are 3 blue hoses. 2 of em come in 1 package. so thus i am only listing two part numbers but will get you all 3 hoses.

look at the back of your fuel filter. see that black thing right there. pull it off. you will now be able to see all the hoses.

Fuel Pump
(International) 1824415-C93
(Ford) F6TZ-9350-A
(NAPA, Kragen/Parts America, AutoZone etc) 61067

Fuel Pump Banjo Gaskets
(Ford) F4TZ-9A375-A
(International) 1820650C1

Fuel Hose, BLUE
(Ford) F4TZ-9324-CA, 3" Long lift pump to filter inlet
(Ford) F4TZ-9324-DA Shorter than above, Filter outlet to High Pressure (piston) pump inlet
