Unhappy She's gone!

It seems like it was only yesterday when I brough her home.

I had to let her go to make room for my newly purchased 52 F6 flatbed.

She was loaded up today and headed to her new home in the state of New York. Don't know if she'll like the New York cold winters. I know that she loved to sunbathe in the hot California sun as she spent most of her time outside.

My last few hours with her were fun, though. The truck doesn't run and the transport driver din't have a winch to winch it up the three car trailer first and then onto the flatbed.

Luckily, I had a winch that I'm putting on my trailer this weekend. A quick trip to the hardware store for longer bolts and voila, the winch was attached to the front of flatbed and she was up and over the trailer in no time.

Farewell to thee!

Ilya

That's quite a distance your old truck is going to take, coast-to-coast. At least you still have an old truck for a project

Not anymore. I'm downsizing my fleet! The liquidater (my wife) said that it all had to go! Just kidding. She didn't. I just had too many and not enough time and money. I barely have enough time and money for the 52 Panel, let alone the 52 F6.

Sold the 52 F1 and this 48 F2. I still have my baby, the 52 Panel. And now she's getting a big brother, 52 F6.

Why does it appear that the frame on the hauler sticks out another 5 ft past the flatbed?? Is it one of those slide/tilt beds? I'm curious, how much will it cost to ship coast-to-coast? Someone must have really wanted it! It looks really solid!

There's a 5th wheel three car hauler that's attached to the back of the truck, past the flatbed.

It's costing the guy about $1k to go coast-to-coast. And, yes, it is a solid truck.

I'm just glad that it's gone!

1000 dollars charged for a loaded 3000 mile trip??And this is what the new truck owner is being charged by the vehicle transport company?? What vehicle transport company is this anyhow?? That is what--33 cents per loaded mile?? Seems pretty reasonable.

Just the cost of diesel fuel would cost at least 900 dollars per 3000 miles. At 10 MPG!! And the diesel carrier truck wouldnt get 10 MPG loaded probably.

Unless the trailer is going to be loaded also, then it would be $2000.00 and 0.66 per loaded mile.

The buyer is friends with the transport guy. He got the friend deal.
