Double acting hinge install Q

Im installing a cafe style door (swings both ways) and I think I screwed something up, It swings fine one way, but the other way, it sort of "falls off the top hinge) the hinge basically opens all the way. Should one of these hinges be installed in reverse?

I think so.

What I believe you have there is what is called a 'gravity hinge'.

If it has a collar on top of the hinge with a bunch of 1/8" holes, You can adjust the door buy wining the spring inside. Hope this helps.
