how much coolant??? 97 explorer
I have 97 Expy with 4.0L OHV. Manual has 4.0 with A/C and 5.0 then capacities of 7L an 12 L, which one is it? Is it all other engines wihtout A/C, are 7L and 4.0L's with A/c and 5.0 are 12L??? HELP!!! I need to get to work!

The Expys (Expeditions) all have either a 4.6 or a 5.4 both of which have a 17.9 l (4.8 Gal) capacity.
The 97 Exploder with a 4.0 shows a total cooling system capacity of 7.6l OR 8.1 Gal capacity without regard to the A/C system.
A/C doesn't have any bearing on the system fill capaicity. However, rear heat on the larger vehicles does.
