Well, I never did post about getting it, so you didn't really miss it. I've had it for a few months, and it seems to be working well for me. But, I haven't had any problems with the truck since I got it, so I haven't been required to use it much. It does have a lot of really cool features though, with everthing that it can read. I didn't realize the truck had as many sensors on it as it does. I also want to play with the Speed Tracer software (comes with the AE package). If it works like I think it will, I might be able to save myself the 2 hour drive to the dragstrip.
Overall, I'm impressed with it though, and it will come in very useful when I need it.
According to Jay, Speed Tracer will not work on our trucks (we are not completely OBDII compliant). He said we do not have all the sensors to calculate correctly (I think we are missing 2). He said that the 1/4 mile time should work, but nothing else will be anywhere close to accurate.
Will do, for sure. I'll probably try to mess with it some on Thursday. I've got to head to St. Louis tomorrow to visit my grandma in the hospital, so I can't do it tomorrow. But, I am jobless right now, so I've got a bit of free time on my hands. Sucks how that works - now I've got the time to work on and modify the truck some more, but not the money.
Yeah, was in real estate. The market here has gone down the drain. I know it'll eventually turn around, but I can't afford to wait for it to turn around. I'll still keep my license, just not be very active.
I've got a second interview next Monday with a physicians recruiting firm here in Columbia. I've talked to some people that work there and it sounds like a pretty good job. I think I'm pretty well qualified for it given my sales and management (manager at Lowes prior to real estate) background, which is what they're looking for. I already make the cut from 26 people down to 7 after first round interviews. Hopefully I can do well enough in the second interview to fill one of the 3 spots they've got open right now.
But, if it doesn't work out, I'm sure I'll find something. I try to keep my chin up, think positive, and hope for the best.
I think/hope you'll be fine JT. I think the housing bust is about at the bottom now. With fuel below $2.50 gal now, folks may start coming around. Of course this is only as good as until big oil jacks it back up claiming increased demand for heating oil.
