finally got around to lowing the spring towers this weekend. took about 4 hours between breaking the shocks, having to torch some studs, and trying to manhandle the passanger side tower into place.
On the drivers side shock mount I had to weld a peice of angle iron into place for it because the shock mount is also the track bar mount, and couldnt move it. On the passenger side I just moved the bracket down and welded it in place.
For the towers I just used a peice of 2.5 X 4.5 tubing, and welded the hell outa it. It all looks good, nice and level now. Pass side
Lifted side
Unlifted side
Now what I want to do is shackle flip, and remove one leaf from each side since one on the pass side is broken, and hopefully this will bring it back down to level, but ride a little bit better. Im gonna make some beefy shackles, as I tow my car trailer around with this thing, but I've also been looking into bags, but I guess Ill have to see how it levels otu.
well I've got to remove at least one leaf due to one side missing half of the leaf, but I was thinking pull the leaf, flip the shackles and hopefully this will make it nice and soft, and I will invest in some good shocks for the rear and just bag it. on edit: forgot to mention I will be hauling the trailer loaded, thats why I'm thinking bags, it wont be just empty.
