This looks to be a nice trip with lots of hunting, fishing and camping opportunities along the way. I haven't been over the whole route but where I have been provides exceptional opportunities.
I have for a long time wanted to check out the Lassen area. Every time I have past through there, I have wanted to stop and check the area out. Seems a beautiful place. Don't know if it is in the cards this year for us as we have alot of work to get done before winter. I think if Skipped_link competes in Fallon, that will probably be our last distant trip for the year for me and the wife. Now when summer comes back around....
Thanks for the links.
I grew up around there (outside Redding) and have family spread all over Lassen and Siskyou counties, been to Lassen many times. It's well worth the trip. I camped there and climbed it when I was 12 and skied on it many times in my 20s.
I can be the welcome wagon and a pseudo tour guide.
I will research that map and see whats the best places to try a night stop or two. I know that the high lakes would be one of my suggestions, takes a bit of wheeling to get there from what I understand.
I have a week off the middle of October, but I think a bit earlier might be better.
