This is Troy's wife, and once again he needs help!
Waukegan, IL
Huband Broke down. Engine locked up
Possible cause - new injector O ring or copper seal failure. Hydrolocked. He does not have internet access. If anyone could help my husband, please him at 602-793-8026. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
P.S. Cookie88 that must be the source of the vibration.
yea that sounds like a likely culprit, the roughness is common with a bad seal or injector copper.... but im too far away to help sorry hope all turns out well
He can relieve the hydraulic pressure of the hydrolock by removing the glow plugs and turning the engine over by hand. Once it's running again, don't shut it off until he get's home. I'll give his number a call.
sorry to hear that. does he have tools with him? does he have a spare injector oring set? your husband is the one with like 500k on his rig right and drives all over? if so i would think he carries a ton of extras with him...
when did this hydrolock happen? while driving down the road or when he tried to start the truck up?
sorry i wish i lived a little closer than 2500 miles.
I've been on the phone with him twice now, he thinks when he put the new injectors in that something didn't go right. He's pulling the glow plugs right now to try and clear the cylinders and ascertain which is the offender.
Kwik, keep us up to date on his progess if you hear back from him, and I left you some rep points for you efforts to help another member in trouble on a holiday.
His luck is not getting any better. I just talked to him again. He decided to remove the exhaust manifold and peer up the exhaust ports to see if he could find the wet cylinder. (A great idea IMO.) But the passenger side up-pipe going from the manifold to the turbo fell out. The clamp is missing at the top or the flange is broken clean off and the clamp is still there, I could not get anything more specific from him and I was at lunch with some friends at the time.
Half a million miles is beginning to take it's toll on his truck, I am afraid. It's served him fairly well, but I am getting a little nervous for him on the reliability of his truck for business use. It keeps letting him down lately.
I agree with Dan it might be time to look at a little newer truck, I understand finances but if you broke your not making money.
He is too far away for me to be of any help this time, it would take me about 7 hrs to get to him, and I have to work tonight but I would if I could.
For what it's worth the local ford dealer here has a 2000 F350 crewcab dually PSD 4x4 on the lot with just under 100K on it, might be one to look at, not sure on the price although I am sure I could find out tomorrow if interested but pretty sure it's not going to be as bad as the repairs have been on this one lately.

I just spoke with Troy
He has his truck parked at a boat dealership in Waukegan and has been able to diagnose his problem, a injector issue.
He is going to deal with it tomorrow first thing with a local Ford dealership.
I offered any assistance since I am located in the Chicagoland area.
He said he would let me know, otherwise, he is just going to stay with the truck overnight.

Good deal. Makes me proud to be a part of the group.
I just talked to Troy. He was still working on his truck.
His father is in WI and coming down to help him
I offered him a place to crash at my place and he really appreciated it.
I hope next time he will remember to call me if he runs into any trouble when he runs through IL. I will do all I can to help.
