Question

axle codes

I was wondering if there was a link to find out axle codes or if someone knows what they are , my 87 F150 4x4 has the code (19) thanx

on one of the pan bolts there should be a tag.If not remove pan and it should stamped in ring gear

my 88 has 8.8 ring G. 3.55 ratio

According to the article on FTE. You have a 3.55 open axle or non-limited slip.

Manual for my 88 says that code #19 is for 3.55 ratio. It has a 8.8 ring gear,open diff.
