I dont know what the problem is with my truck. I have a '02 Explorer XLT. My truck starts but it wont go into gear. I notice that when i press the brake pedal, the brake lights dont come on. Is there some connection between the brake lights and the gear box. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance guys.

The brake light switch is wired to the shift lock & to the brake lights.

Check the brake light fuse, if it's OK take a look at the brake light switch & see if you can adjust it.
