This may seem like a stupid question but here it goes,
I was wondering, in a 95 F-150 straight 6, how does the shifter connect to the transmission. Its an automatic and i just wanted to see if anyone has herd of moving the shifter to the floor instead of on the steering coloum.
I may be getting a truck and ive been looking around for things to do to it.
not Ford, not 95...but still an auto, my buddy bought a 1980 chev s/b 2wd with a turbo 400 auto trans there was a floor shift in it. You push down on the shifter and select a gear (no display). So it is possible, I would start off looking at B&M's website.
lokar makes a "stick" style floor shifter for an automatic that makes it look like you have a stick shift. it gives you a big old shifter coming out of the floor like you had a granny first 4 speed trans in it.
not sure on how the lokar mounts. i will have to ask my friend. he has one mounted in a pro street 75 F150 he is building to match the 71 F150 that he did 10 years ago. the 71 has a 428 CJ with a granny first 4 speed, and the 75 has a 460 C6. but when you look in it, it looks like it has the 4 speed.
