I got the Radio deck hooked up (or should I say fixed) in my 83 F-150. But got a question. What color is the straight hot wire for the memory? I hooked the straight hot from the radio into the Acc side of the ignition for now. But I'd like to solve this problem.
If your truck had one of the factory option radios, then the memory wire will be lightgreen with a yellow stripe. If your truck had one of the standard radios, it may not have this wire up there in the harness.
Thanks, How hard would it be to run a wire in case the truck don't have it? I don't know what it had from the factory. I bought it with a "Dual" (brand) radio. I would like to swap it out for a factory radio with manual tune but it will do for now.
But check it also with the key in accessory and with the engine running. I've seen spots on the fuseblock that are on when the engine is off and off with the engine on.

I can't think of any spots that are off when the engine is on?
I have seen it. I remember that problem on a John deere model Super A, it was super because they just started using rubber tires. Then again, that was after the birds nest above the intake manifold caught on fire.
Does the F150 have an accessory connector under the dash for an optional center console? There's one on my Bronco II which has permanent hot, accessory hot, ignition hot, and instrument panel lights. If there's such a connector on the F150 it might be easier to tap an appropriate fused feed there than to get all the way back to the fuse panel.
