65 driveline question
Just had the 2 piece drive line restored with new u joints, center bearing and balanced by a highly recommended driveline service. Put it back into place and how hard can that be with the alignment arrows and a total of 10 nuts. Of course Ford says torque to specs but doesn't tell you what they are in the manual. Anyway as I was in neutral and coasting back in my driveway I hear this sound like metal turning in metal. There is no clunking sounds at all. When put into reverse or drive you can hear the same sound as the truck moves but no clunking so I figure the u joints are seated fine. So what could this be? The only part that really turns is the center bearing assembly as everything else was left alone after dropping out the driveline. So much for picking up gravel today with the truck...
