I have purchased an electronic ignition distributor for the 390 I am putting in a newer style Mustang. In the picture below I am sure I need an electronic box like the one in the picture and a coil. Can anyone guide me in the right direction? Please include wiring if possible. I guess it would be safe to assume that the distributor does not plug directly into the box so what goes in between. Thanks once again in advance, jim

Those boxes can be found just about anywhere under a Ford hood... If you like to run the salvage yards, just look for a late 70's early 80's vehicle with one mounted to the fender. You will need one with a blue tab where the wires come out of the box, these are not emission limited. Also grab the coil that goes with it. You can buy new from your favorite parts house too. The box plugs into the wire harness on one end and the dist on the other lead. There are instruction on this site about retro-fitting one into pre-75 vehicles. Search for "electroninc ignition" should get you something.
Yes, it does have a tach hook-up. The D.U.I. coil, which is inside the distributor cap, has 2 leads protruding out the side of the cap. One lead is for your hot(power) wire and the other lead is for a tach hook-up. Yes, the distributor is based on a GM HEI system.
