Hey guys, working on a '76 Supercab, and have to replace a door.
The bolts on the junkyard door came off pretty rough, and stripped the bolts as well as doing a number on the threads inside the door. I'm going to have to drill and tap them, so I'm wondering if anyone knows the tap size I should use for them.
Unless you broke the bolts of in the door you should not have to drill them. Just run a tap in to clean the threads up. If the threads are to far gone than you are going to have to increase the size of the bolt in order to cut new threads. Speaking from experience I think just cleaning the threads up will do it. I am not exactly sure what the thread size is, but if you take a bolt to a parts store they should be able to tell you. good luck.
