Hi I was just wondering who has installed a EFI 460 in there early pickups and how it went? I was also wondering how you like it so far? Any pics would be good also.
what year truck are you putting the efi 7.5L into? if its pre 86 you will have to change alot of stuff (mainly the entire fuel systems as the carb engines had no need for electric fuel pumps) alos you will need the basics, the engine, wire harnes, computer, and a transimission with te bb bolt pattern on the bell houseing. most of the f150s had aod or e4od transmissions in them and if you use them u will need an adaptor plate, though a c6 tranny would be the best choice for stoutness behind that baheameth of a motor. just my thoughts and opinions, also, im not sure but you may need to relocate the engine mounts them self as well.
It is going in a 76 f-150 I did a efi swap on my 67 bronco so I know the basics. I also have a 400 bellhousing for my 4 speed but would like to find a donor truck with a 5 speed in it. I was just wondering if anyone that has done it has any pointers from their swap. The engine mounts are one of the things I'm wondering about.
it was carb set up all stock. c6 tranny np205 t case. dana 44 front 9" rear and could set 36" tsl on fire.. ok not on fire but had plenty of power to turn em over. the only thing i didnt like about it is the amount of fuel it consumed.. though its hard not step into a 460 with headers -n- duel exhaust and walk away from a lil ricer. the only reason i sold it, was to get something more economical with a lil one runnin around.
