i do not dispute what you have said. i did say that it would put out more horsepower. but i have been around these things all my life. the dt 466, in my opinion was the best engine that international ever made. but i have seen these engines in the long run.

ahh that sounds pretty straight forward. ill have to save this forum so i can look back at it if i ever have the money to do my cat swap!

im sure i would take either a 466 or the 3116, which ever i can find when the time comes

either will be a good engine, and yes a lot of work. but well worth it in the long run. good luck to you, and if you have more questions i will be happy to tell you what i know.

This is going against my grain(because I love the DT466), but a Cat 3116 is physically smaller than a 466, so fitting should be a touch easier. Every quarter inch helps on such a big swap.

you are so very right about that. i already had to cut through the firewall as it was. the dt466 would be an awesome engine to have in a pick-up as well, in my opinion it is the best that international made, and a very good engine.
