I'm not much for music videos. In fact, I normally hate them. But the other day I was flipping and there was Jack Ingram's new(?) video for the song "Love You". Chick is flipping out beating, I believe, a new F-150 with a ball bat and looking over at Ingram who's singing and playing guitar in the parking lot. The assumption is that it is his truck. He finishes the song and goes over to his truck, which is also a Ford, but from the 76-79 era, from what little we get to see of it. Then some big biker looking guy comes out to find the dammage she has inflicted on the new F150. (get ready for the rant)
It features some Fords, but it also shows the reason I hate music videos (and most musicals for that matter). If you were playing guitar in the parking lot of some little place and your ex girlfriend came up and started tearing up someone else's vehicle, wouldn't you halt the song right there and seek cover? You may be the next thing she comes after. Maybe call the cops on your cell phone? Just as stupid as singing "Good Morning" and dancing around the apartment with Danny Kaye and Debbie Reynolds. (rant over)
I kind of like the song, though. Go figure.
I think that in the video he's not supposed to know she is doing that while he is singing. See, he has his back turned. She wouldn't want him to see that while she was doing it, but after she had finished. When he finishes the song and turns around is when he is first supposed to see it. She knows that if he saw it before, he would run over there and stop her from damaging "his" truck.
I know what you're saying but I still get a kick out of the video and think it is a pretty good song. Hollywood doesn't care about making things that make any sense...only things that make $ and lots of it.

I guess I'll have to watch closer. And I guess I'm showing I'm an old fogey. I play my guitar and sing at a volume that I'd deffinately hear someone banging around on a truck behind me, even if I didn't see it.
and 93F250, I think I like the song too. I'll need to hear it a few more times to make up my mind.
Haha I'm glad we analyzing a music video... but I think he's suppost to be letting her do it cuz he knows it's not his, just to spite her. This is one of my favorite new songs on the radio. I got to see Jack at the Texas FFA convention and he was great.
