wobble in rear

wobble in rear
I have a 1980 f-250 with a 10.25 rear... One wheel wobbles like mad... I took the wheel off, removed the axle and it still wobbled... Could this be bearings? if not what could it be... Appreciate any info... thanks

Have you checked the spindle nut to make sure it's torqued properly? If the nut comes loose the whole hub might wobble, eating the bearings at the same time. With the truck jacked up can you physically wobble the wheels around by hand?
