Draging left front issuses

My son's 1989 4x4 supercab XLT with ABSI left front is draging, noticed black dust on the rim and can feel it on the wheel, while driving.

The drivers front rotor drags for awhile (10 mintues or so) then releases. We replaced the calipers, pads, rubber hoses, rear wheel cyclinders, shoes, hardware, new master cylinder bench bled great, bled the whole system ever let it drip bleed for awhile and we used two big cans of fuild.

The rotors look fine but I was thinking of replacing them to ensure the rotor is not causing the problem. BUT how in world doe steh rotor come off teh ub on a 4x4? It's kicking my a&*.

I took it to a shop and they said the proportioning valve on the firewall is bad.

BS the truck has a builtin prop valve on the m/c. The front line goes down and tee's off to either side. The rear as we know goes into the ABS Mod then back to the rear tee to split off the left and right sides.

So what else could be causing the left front to drag??

Thanks Mike

Cool Bad Braking

Hi 89fourx4,

IT'S TOTALLY AGRAVATING!!
On my Ranger mine alternates, on any given day, from passanger to driver.
The only thing I haven't changed is the proportioning valve.
And hopefully you know, as well as I, that "trial+error" is sometimes the path that we all m ust follow!
