I'm just about ready to go rockhounding and went to change my fuel filter...done this more times than I can recall. Anyway, I take the cover off and pull the filter out. Try to take the element guard off the old filter and no way...it won't come off and I cannot remember how I have taken it off in the future. I am just short of muscling it, but I know I will break the element guard. Any quick help would be most appreciated.
On EDIT: Ignore this and write it off to an old geezer going senile. Kwik PM'ed me and said "the element guard comes on my Napa Gold filters". I open the filter box and sure enough, there is the filter with the filter guard !
On a side note, the fuel pressure gauge I installed was great after the filter change. I just cycled the key until the pressure came up on the gauge (fuel bowl was filled) and then it fired off perfectly.
