Probably loose wires inside the valve cover gaskets. Very common problem with our trucks. You have to remove the valve covers to gain access and then fix it. Pay close attention to how the glow plug wires are routed, on my truck they were rubbing on the pushrods and caused a short.

Some pictures.

i should have mentioned this - a few days ago all you had to do was take out the icp sensor and clean it with brake fluid and the truck ran great for a day or 2 then that quit working - i cant remember if it was an ipc or an icp sensor but is there a way to bypas or wire around the sensor - or should i just get a new sensor - but i will mention the wiring to him

No you definitely need that sensor. That's called the Injection Control Pressure sensor.

the ICP sensor, on the driver's side oil rail plug? i believe if you unplug that ELECTRICAL connector (you will get a code) the engine will still run but it will be in "limp" mode and will regulate the ICP to a certain predetermined pressure for that given RPM and throttle position.

i did not clean the ebp sensor, i got a ebp code eliminator and out that in - do you guys think i should replace the icp again b/c like i said, there for a few days if you would take out the icp and clean it - the truck would run great for up to a day or two?? but it is basically new
