I saw this in my Northern Tool catalog, and it looks pretty useful-

Does anybody here have one, or know someone who does? I'd like to make sure this thing would actually work and isn't just a glorified lawn tractor.

All I can say is "Made in China". What happens when you need replacement parts, say for the clutch? Northern -DOES- stand behind what they sell though and will source parts for you. Their fax back service with manuals and parts is very good, I have used a few times.
For $15,000 you could buy a nice used Bobcat from their master catalog and save some change at the same time and have locally sourced parts and shops that can repair the tough stuff.
