Best 1/4 ET

I'm curious what the best 1/4 ET is in our body style. What are your specs and mods to get there?

my truck runs the 1/4 in 11.92 at 112 mph....but it has a 331 turbocharged motor in it now.

I ran my truck on the highway in a 1/4 mile stretch.

The camera that was used only took fifteen second Mpegs at a time.

I was able to have the whole distance filmed so that should tell you something.

At the time I had close to 900 lbs of stuff in the box under the topper.

Some day I would like to take the topper off and take all the stuff in the back out to see what it can do.

Do you know your Horsepower or Torque? Rear gear ratio? Stock torque converter, if applicable?

Stock T/C
Rear gears 2.75:1

yes, i built the truck.the convertor is a stallion 9" with a stall of 4500,rwhp is 575,rwtq is 680.this is with radials on back and letting off 3/4 track( because of alittle breaking up in the higher rpm's)at gainesville raceway.the motor makes well over 650hp at the flywheel and on a dynojet it put down 575.71 rwhp and 680.37 rwtq.the truck currently weighes in at 4200 with driver.oh, the gears are stock 3:50's with a locker.

I thought 112mph seemed low for a sub 12 second pass.

it should have been around 115-120 but my 60' was 2.02....lots of spinning.

Truck! Ford truck! I'm guessing you're running a stock suspension? My 60ft was 2.3 seconds... not traction limited sadly. What is a decent drag suspension/setup for a full size truck?

Some ladder bars to help axle wind up will help. Moving the battery to the bed and such, to put more weight over the rear axle will help too.

Consistent 12.60s @ 120+Mph. Best TE @ 125.470 with a warmed & massaged early 460, DIVE Block, D3VE Heads in a '79, F-150, Trlr Specl, SWB, under a 66 F-100 CC SWB body with "Built Suspensension" 3.00:1 9" 4 pinion, 10"w X 30"Dia "DOTs". This Truck is "Built" & Massaged for this sort of thing.
