OOOOPS!!! I meant 5.0L Exploder sorry! Typing too fast with the mind elsewhere.
Since its a 4x4, your best bet is to find a wrecked Exploder. Actually if you could find a rolled one, that would be best. I'd suggest getting the entire drivetrain from the Exploder, engine, mounts, tranny, transfer case, driveshafts, axles, the works.
Come on guy's, don't make it harder than it has to be, he's got a 4x4, so he has the right componetes. All he needs basically is a 302, and a good complete conversion kit, and maybe a few misc items. These conversions are done all the time with out having to buy a whole explorer. If you have an explorer handy, all well and good, but not a must have by any means.
An Explorer would be the easiest way to go. The Explorer V8 is pretty much a bolt in affair. And the electronics are a plug and play kind of thing. Many of the parts offered in the "swap" kits won't work with a 2000. The Mustang dual sump oil pan, motor mounts, and Headman swap headers won't work to name some of the items.
