My dad actually is a dodge truck fan and thus so was i until i bought my Mustang.
GM or Chevs were too popular, everyone has/had one and i like to be a little different. (no comments from the peanut gallery)
Had an ancestor from Nutana, who lived there until Nutana, Riversdale and Saskatoon merged and incorperated in 1906. (Read his diaries and 1906 stuck in my mind.) He left because it was getting way too civilized.
My first vehical was a 87' T-bird turbo coupe. Like to have that one back as well!! I bought a 78' F-150 a year later just to drive in winter, and after that I have really liked the 73' - 79' model trucks. I'm still waiting to hear back from the owner of the 79' I want . I hope he hurry's up and gets it running properly becuse if I buy it I would like to drive it a bit before the snow flies.

He should see it now, it`s really grown. Saskatoon has over 200,000 people , almost time for me to leave but with so many goods and services I`m staying.
I was born in 76 and dad had a 78 F-150 4x4, then an 81 F-250 4x4, then an 86 F-250 4x4... and so the story goes. Those were his work trucks, but he always had different daily drivers. A 64 Merc, a 76 F-100, a 65 Merc (still has it in the bush) a 67 Merc and now he just picked up a new daily driver a few days ago, an 82 F-100 with a 300 6 and an automatic. There were many more trucks in there throughout the years. My first truck was a 79 Bronco, oh boy if that thing could talk!!!!
Your lucky too fom, you dont live in saskatoon, you live outside of it, thats the best place to be, get the goods of the city, but not the crap to go with it!
I grew up on a farm 20min from Saskatoon. moved to Regina 2 years ago for my wife's job. The plan is to some day move back, a small town or acerage is what we are looking for. Better get going, don't want to miss the labor day classic.
Because up until 1978 I had ridden in:
IH's
Dodges
Chev's
GMC's
Fargo's
*****'s
Ford's
I always liked Fords Design and I really liked the new look of the 78's.
My friend's Uncle at the time owed me big time for photgraphing 4 of hs 5 kids wedding's at no charge. He worked at MGM in Red Deer and called me to come look at a 78 F-100 with a 302 in it.
I laughed when I saw it.
I turned around 180* and said: "what else came in" ?
He said a few over here.
I saw my Truck immediately...2 trucks in from the end ... Perfect I said: What's the asking price ?
He said:"let me look......ah.....It says $9250.00
I said: " and my price"?
We went in and talking about the damaged topper and the Mickey Mouse attempt at fixing it ,came to an agreement of $6200.00 with a full tank of gasoline.
I picked it up the next week.
IMO, Ford has always had great styling, great interior, half decent powertrain & great ride.
