This forum is great... I love reading all the reports of v10's (bragging rights) on the road vs. other trucks as well as the technical aspect of this site. I firmly believe that the Triton v10 is one of the best commercial engines available. I've driven a lot of trucks in my short (21 years) time here on earth and I can honestly say the most exciting, durable truck I have ever driven is my 2002 F-250 SC SB 4x4 w/3.73 ratio. The only truck MORE exciting that I have driven would have to be my uncle's '06 350 Lariat CC SRW 4x4 SB 3v10 w/4.30's. It makes me and anyone else in viewing distance from it constantly sport a massive BSEG. However, back to the testimony of my 2 valver... As of today... the odometer reads 164556 miles. All those miles, same engine... same tranny... the only negative? My left front wheel bearing bit the dust last week and cost about $700 to repair --- That is the only repair I've had done in almost 5 years of service. Barring my regular maintenance costs... I change my own oil and rotate the tires... I think that's pretty dagum good!! The one thing I've found consistent in Ford trucks is if you take care of them, they take care of you!! My truck is a testament to this... Now I know that one day my engine will need rebuilding as well as the transmission... but to this day the engine sounds and runs as strong as ever and the tranny shifts as well as Shakira can shake those hips of hers. I just wanted to thank you guys here at the forums... your posts have been most helpful and very accurate!! Keep it up!
I would have to agree. 210k on my V10 Excursion. Engine and trans untouched since new! I've replaced three hubs so far! I also have a 2000 7.3 powerstroke dually. I still think the V10 is a better all round engine.
