I recentlyput a 6" Fabtech lift on an 06 super duty. The ride and looks are great but the only problem is sometimes when I hit bumps at speed it has a terrible headshake. I am running the stock tires still so the alignment should be good, right? I had to lengthen the drag link a little bit, but now it tracks perfectly straight. I have heard of this problem before, but never experienced it, so I am lost on what to do. Thanks for any help.
i have an 06' f-350 super duty crew cab long bed 4x4 that i bought in january.my truck came stock with 18" wheels and a/t tires.bone stock my truck would act the same way at speed if you hit a pot hole or big bump.i added a 2 1/2" leveling kit to the front coil springs........still same problem. just purchased a set of aftermarket wheels and oversized mud terain tires < 35" x 12.50 tires on 18"x 10" custom wheels > have put 5,000 miles on new package and have not experienced one situation with the head shake problem.seams to me the stock skinny super stiff side wall tires wanna act funny in certain situations.might play around with tire presure and see if it helps!! good luck!!
yes the 35-12.50 mud tires throw everything up the sides.....i find myself washing my truck more often!!! no i have not yet ventured into the fender flares ( not sure i like the look ).with the offset of my weld wheels the tires are approximately 2-3 inches past the fenders. with the stock wheels they wer sucked way up under the fendes and i thought looked funny!!have ben very happy with the stants and ride quality!!
I have a 06 superduty also with a fabtech 6" lift with no problems at all. I can tell you stay away from rancho 4" radius arm lift, it's crap, way too much caster built in to it which causes heavy steering. Maybe try a fabtech steering stabilizer, it should help with the wobble.
