If it's anything like last year........ not as good as what they're offering right now. I can't count how many folks talked themselves out of the deals last year thinking they'd get better- and they didn't.
I read somewhere that you should never get a loan for a car for more than 5 years, Is there any thruth to this
yes and no , when it's free for 5 or 6 years it's a great thing!
no money down with intrest for 5 or 6 years is not so good but
what can ya do? some folks jest can't afford to do it any other way!

I have read over your posts and have some questions. What exactly is A plan or X plan or Point a gun at them plan, or whatever it is you are using a lot? I am in Columbia SC and I have developed a serious want for a new Expedition. Looks like the 06 models are getting ripe for the picking. Could you explain these plans for me? Can I use them along with the 7006 cash back offering that has been plastered all over TV today? With the right attitude, could I get the 0% financing alond with it? I have great credit and I usually keep a vehilce for at least 5 years. I am in an expanding family and I need the room. Your advice on the subject would be great. I have always been a good negotiator, I can always walk away but there are new tools I can use and you seem to be the person who has the stuff. Let me know if you can help,
A/Z Plan. Ford Employee/Retiree or immediate family (siblings, spouses, children) only. About 3.5% below dealer invoice.
D plan: Dealer Employee and immediate family only. A/Z Plan + $100.
X plan: This one isn't so restrictive- partner companies, employees, suppliers, and Ford employees get a number of PINS to give out. This is about 1/2% below invoice.
re: Rebates. It's an either/or proposition- rebates or special financing, not and.
If you find a rig you like, I can probably look up invoice on it, although incentives have been varying wildly across the states lately.
PB,
Thanks for clearing that up for me. It's a shame I am not related to an employee. The X plan may be a possibility, maybe one of the members is feeling generous and would give me one of thier PINs. As far as getting the invoice, you asked if I had one in mind. To be clear about what you need, would a specific model with a specific trim package be sufficient or would you need the actual VIN of the truck?? Also, with the rebates offered now, can the X plan be used along with them to really compound the savings? Just curious, and thanks for responding so quickly.
I was looking at an 06 XLT or EB, leather, aluminum wheels, towing package, power everything, etc. Should i list everything out or will the trim package do? sorry to ask so many questions, but man what a help this will be. thanks for being patient, i hope to get the hang of this soon,
2wd would be fine for me. we aren't even in the foothills here really and to be honest it would relaly be an urban assault vehicle for me, more of an elevated stationwagon.
Rough numbers- MSRP's are running about $42,000, invoice about $38,000 before you start talking rebates or finance incentives. There are quite a few in your area- although they're complete strangers here in the northwest.
thanks, it looks like i will have to give up some options if i want to get a new one and stay in my price range. i see some people here getting PINs for the x-plan with ford, is it really that simple? being new to the forum, i thought i would feel things out first. maybe i can get an xlt with cloth interior or something to get back below 30 before the rebates. main thing is the v8 and towing capacity for my utility trailer. looks like the xls might be my best shot. anyway, thanks and have a good one.

Reason: misspelling
One suggestion- with the used SUV market the way it is, and a new Expy around the corner- $25K or so should buy a REALLY nice, clean, VERY late model used one. Actually, that should buy a 4X4 Eddie Bauer while you're at it.
