What is plug for?

I have a 2006 f250 super duty cc. There is a plug mounted under the driver side dash that I do not know what it is for. It is tagged "customer access". What is this plug for?

thats where a scanner plugs in to read trouble codes if you SES (service engine soon) light comes on

Thanks. I am putting in a auto dimmer/temp/ rear view mirror and thought this might be a place to wire in the power. Now I know to leave it alone!
