Do you mean 'plug' as in a rubber plug in a hole, or do you mean an electrical connector? The question is a bit vague and that's why your getting disparate answers. Pics are sometimes a big help, too, especially when it comes to grommets and rubber hole plugs. There are quite a few openings that can be used or unused depending on equipment.

They make a rubber plug to quote "plug" it when truck came with an automatic. Looks like it's missing. They are available. DC, LMC, etc.
