I’m about to buy a F150 Screw XLT. I am looking at the 0% for 72 month deal. They are giving me a the X plan price, plus $500 off. Does this sound like a good deal (about $4000 in savings off sticker) or should I hold out for more?

seeing that it is the end of the month, i really think you can do much better. With my King Ranch, I ended up paying $36,900.00 and it stickers for 44,000.00+. It did take me two days of going back and forth and walking out a few times before they bit, but I really think you can do better.......Good luck and keep us updated.
One more thing, I you are happy with the deal, by all means get the truck! I have paid more than I probably should have for other cars/trucks, but bottom line, I wanted it and was happy with the deal they were offering. Just remember, once you do the deal, don't keep looking at the updated or future deals going on and think to yourself, damn! I wish I waited. My advise, even though I said you could get a better deal, try to knock a few more bucks off, if they won't move, get the truck and enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Two months ago I bought a 2006 SCREW FX4 150" WB and it stickered at $40,700 and I paid $31,000 with 0% for 60mo. They had the $1000 gas card or money told vehicle and $1000 loyalty cash. The advantage now is the 60,000 / 5yr warranty that is standard. I missed that by a week.
Actually the dealaer will sell you the pickup for what he paid for it, plus what ever percentage he pencils as overhead (building lease, staff salaries, etc.). The way Ford pickups are being stacked up due to non-sales, just getting rid of a unit at no cost to the dealer would be a good deal to him.
I got my 06 STX for $14,500 the sticker was at 22,500, but with the labor day sales and all the insentives I got 8,000 off. I got some horrible rate from ford credit and ended up paying it off on the second payment. The best deals of the year are labor day and memorial day sales thats when you save the most. Also it helps if you try a big dealership that isn't affraid to lose some. It still blue books at 20,000
Everybody back up a second- X-Plan is X-Plan..... or it isn't. He's getting X-Plan and a $500 plan bonus cash incentive (plans only), and 0$ 72 months. don't confuse the issue- run with it!
id hold out for more. x-plan is $500 off i got $6000 off msrp 3yrs ago when the new style just came out. build the truck on line print it out take it with u to more than one dealer. you will get a better deal just dont get in a hurry about it thats what the dealer likes you to do. make good decisions its a lot of money 7years of payments. you need to make the best deal you can. you dont have to tell the dealer you have the x pin # till you have made the deal its a $500 off coupon from ford you can get a x-pin # anytime over at blueovalnews.com for the asking. you also can order a truck and get just what you want and not what you dont ive always got a better deal when ive ordered. http://media.putfile.com/my91s14mi-runs
Last year, a good percentage of the boards looked at the employee prices and rebates and came to the conclusion that they shouldn't buy one, but wait until later when the deals got better. That decision cost them a few thousand dollars- and those great deals never came back.
re: X-Plan. If you use X-plan, the dealer HAS to sell it at X-Plan price (yeah, ford polices that). You can't get any retail rebates, so the $500 x-plan money is all that there is out there in combination with the 05. If you honestly believe you can buy a new Screw for less than $600 under invoice (approximate X-Plan deal)- knock yourself out. It'll be a challenge though.
re: discounts in years gone by. Margins got shrunk on '06, and it'll happen again in '07 (% difference between invoice and MSRP), so it's not realistic to expect the same $$$ discount off of MSRP that you got a couple/three years ago, because there's less room to play with in markup. In '07, a 10% discount will be considered a good deal.
re: ordering. You can only order '07's- which aren't part of the $500 plan rebates or 0% incentive. Replay of last year.
Sorry to sound cranky, but there's some really terrible advice being thrown out there tonight.

in my 50 years lets just say ive had a few new fords ive felt good about what ive paid on most of them. bottom line shop around be an educated buyer. good luck let us know how you do. cant go wrong with an F-150
I paid around $37 for my Lariat Screw 4x4 which stickered around $43. Plus i did get $1,000 cash back plus 0% for 60 or 1.9 for 72. Seems like you are getting a good deal.
Have them give you the price with all of the incentives and then compare it to the X Plan. When I was buying my 06 XLT SCREW 4 x 4 at the end of May, it was cheaper to NOT go with the X PLAN. You need to shop between the different dealerships as they will try to beat each other.
