Newbie looking for info.
Thanks for all the good information you have all been providing.
I actually went to look at a 74 F250 in London yesterday. It is green (same colour as my grand fathers was) and it had the same engine (390) It was a ranger XLT. There was barely any rust on it at all. The prior owner had been getting it oil sprayed for the last 20 yrs. There was a bit of surface rust in a couple of spots, and 2 small holes on the pass. door. Rockers, cab corners, inner fenders, box, cab mounts, all solid. It ran very smooth handled nice. The guy was looking to get $2500.00 for it FIRM. I have no idea if that is a good price or not. I thought it was steap in my opinion, but i have no concept of what these things should be worth.
I've yet to decide what i'm going to do. I figured i'd think about it for a couple of days and then figure it out. If it's still there of course.
Thing that sucks, is that i'm a bit short on the cash. I have half of it, but i've had a few surprises come up this past month that i wasn't expecting to have to fork out cash to. The story of everyone's life though i suppose.....
I guess i'll play it by ear and see what happens.
I'll let you all know if i do pick it up.
Cheers,
Geoff
If you really don't think you're going to buy it, post here on FTE so another member can scoop it up.
AL.
Borrow the cash from Grandma, thats what Gradma's are for! and she'll feedyou when you go pick up the money!!
He had it on e-bay and then took it off.
He said he didn't know if the A/C worked, but the belt had been removed, so to me that would mean it likely doesn't work.
Very solid truck though.
I think I am likely going to pass though right now. I am going to wait until spring and start looking again. Just not a good time right now for me.
If anyone else is interested in it, let me know and I can get you the guys number.
Cheers,
Geoff
