He can practise tuning my trucks up if he needs on hands practise. My 86 still only gets 6 mile per gallon.
1 Release the park brake, air up the tires to 30lbs.
2 Make sure it`s in gear, the fan can`t pull it any harder/faster....
Sorry, I just couldn`t resist that. I`ve never had a Ford truck get that bad, even my 71 F350/390 gets better than that I think.
I'm living on Massey Drive. I would have been able to go to the cruise but the Co-op going away party was saturday night.
Increasing mileage on the '86.
Install tall skinny tires.
Lower until it's 5" off the ground.
Chop the roof.
Install a tonneau cover.
Add a zf 5spd behind a 300 I6.
Install a 3.00:1 ratio. The zf 5spd has a driveable granny low.
No that is not my I6 engine that is my 351. My I6 gets 22 on the highways. Someone suggested to change the carb to a carter. He said they are better on gas than the Holley carb on my truck. I'm starting wonder about these Holleys. My 78 when I change it from a motorcraft carb to a holley the gas mileage got wort also. I wonder if the holleys are not what they use to be.
The motor that will be replaced into my 78 will have a Edelbrock carb. It is so simple and easy to adjust. That is the rebuilt 390 I bought this spring. Yet to find time to install.
