Drive Line Angles

I figure now is the time to ask since I've just installed a new drive shaft and don't want to turn it into a pretzel! Do you want the shaft lengths as straight as possible or is it better to have slight articulation at each joint?

I've heard that you should have a slight angle at each U-joint is this true? Should I split the difference of the 3 U-joints (2 peice D-shaft) evenly or keep the forward shaft closer to level like it would be stock.

To clarify I have an '89 F-150 2WD Manual tranny with a 6" lift.

I'm thinking that I should have the carrier bearing slightly lowered by maybe a 1/4" or so to help keep the slip yoke together a bit more. (It's not currently a problem but it did get chewed up, mostly due to a lack of lube)

Body lift or suspension lift?
Eather way I would keep the carrer where it is. I tried lowering it once, just to have it ripped of by a piece of sandstone the second run out. Now with CV joints, that work smother at sharper angles, I will never again drop my carrer. hope this helps

Oh and also, if you drop your carrer you have to change the angle that it sits as well. the best place for it, is bolted to the crossmember.
