Thanks to all of you for your input on my problem. After checking the things that you all told me to, I found that the plug on the contact plate of the transfercase was missing the lock that held it in place and it was not staying pluged in good. I repaired this and it solved my problem lots cheaper than a gem module and shifter motor. I did check out my shifter motor by removing the two relays and jumping out the wires for the motor to make sure that it was working properly. (Org-Blk on one relay and Yl-Gr on the other, to reverse the motor just reverse the wires. You can not leave these wires jumped out no longer than it takes the shifter motor to change states or it could burn up your motor) Once I found out that it was working OK and I was still not getting a siginal for what mode it was in I then looked at my elec. drawing that I got from the mechanic that installed and removed that gem module and I chased the problem to the plug on the contact plate on the side of the transfercase. Thanks again to all and I hope that this little bit of information will help someone else out.
