Natural Peanut Butter

I'm sort of thinking all these partially hydrogenated oils are not so good for us.
So I look at the jar of peanut buuter in the pantry and see all manner of stuff aside from peanuts.
I went by the grocery store and bought myself a jar of Smuckers All Natural Peanut Butter.
The kind where the oil and peanut butter separate and you have to stir them together. I haven't had it since I was about 8 years old.

Man, that is some GOOD stuff !!
Kind of makes me wonder why they screw peanut butter up by adding trans-fats, and sugar, and who knows what else.

You should try some if you like peanut butter.

BrianA, funny you brought up this peanut butter thread.

I was just talking to friend who told me she had just bought some peanut butter.

Her being a heathnut, I asked her what brand. She said Skippy.

"Skippy? That stuff taste more like sugar than peanut butter."

I told her to buy some of the natural stuff; even try the other nut butters, like cashew butter, almond butter, etc.

The natural nut butters do taste good.

I love the taste and consistency of natural peanut butter. Far better than the typical PB you find in the market.

My step parents farmed about 4000 acres of peanuts. I've had them boiled, oven roasted, raw, fried with garlic butter, peanut brittle, and peanut butter. While peanuts are mostly fat, there is no cholestrol. They are also good for the digestion or so said my stepmom. We ate a lot of them and my step parents lived to 89 for dad and mom just dies a couple of weeks ago at the young age of 95. Must be somehting in 'em, huh.

Flash, my condolences on the passing of your step parents (mom) passing.

And maybe there is something to be said of consuming peanuts.

I hear walnuts are suppose to be real good for you.

My favorite are cashews chased by a beer, followed by some beer nuts, again chased by a beer.

When I lived in Calgary ,I used to take an empty container to a place called Community Health Foods & get my PB right from the peanut butter making machine they had.

Freshest PB there is.

Maybe a food processor, peanuts, and maybe a little bit of peanut oil.

Probably cheaper to buy it.

heck yea! i am for the all natural, i posted awhile back about just trying to find pure juice in america, we ended up getting a blended to make some good juice!

we went food shopping last nite, and we were looking for things without corn syrup in it......GOOD LUCK! EVERYTHING has corn syrup in it! i think its stupid, i would love to see more choices of food without all this "extra" stuff in it.

heck, i would even pay more for the things, to bad i am in the minority, poeple rather have cheap food than good i guess, of course the trips to walmart for food i can look around and see why, the stuff poeple buy........pitiful, whats worst is the poor kids that get fed that junk while growing up.

bf250, And that's one of the major reasons why the obesity and diabetes rates are rising.

As for your juice, get a juicer. Can't get any fresher than that.

bf250, bread machine?

My old juicer has an option for a grain mill attachment; just in case I want to make flour to make bread products.
