Hi All,
nOOb to this forum. Searched for this issue and found nothing. I have an '05 Expedition and installed the Lund Windflow Blade (rear air deflector) part 13437. Here in AZ we have 75 MPH speed limits. First blade (professionally installed) suddenly yanked completely out of mounting holes on highway. Replacement installed with clench rivits (both installed by best body shop in 100 mile radius). Now, at higher speeds (65 with heavy winds or 75+ with no wind) the blade flutters and vibrates the rear door so loud you'd think the door is about to pull off. This product installation required through body (drilled holes) mounting so simply removing the thing will leave holes and an expensive auto-body repair.
Has anyone experienced this problem? Any fix ideas? All help greatly appreciated.

I had the same happen to me. I replaced it, and it blew off during a storm sitting un my driveway. Needless to say the wholes had to be repaired and my whole gate had to be painted. Counting the two deflectors, having them installed, and the final repair, I went $700 + in thw hole. Get rid of it.
Sorry to hear of your expense. I fear I may be facing the same. Am hoping someone has found a fix. I wonder if I can find a custom one (more rigid fiberglass or metal) to be made to fit the same holes and if such migh be cheaper than filling the holes and painting the gate. I have a call into a Lund rep and hoping he will call me back on Monday. Also hoping to see, via forums, if there is a clear trend of this problem.
Ford makes a Rear Air Deflector for the Expy and from the picture it looks identical to the Lund (except Ford's is a matched painted so probably fiberglass and therefore stiffer and less likely to flutter). I wonder if Lund modeled theirs from the Ford one and maybe they will have the same mount templet. I will call Ford on Monday and see if I can learn the hole pattern. Ford's is on sale and for $150; it would be way cheaper than having the body-work done to fill in the holes.
Will definately be cheaper than the repair. If the one from Ford works let me know. I miss having the air pushing the dirt and grime away from my rear window without having to use my wiper.
Haven't received the Ford templet yet but I did get a call back from Lund. Claimed flutter is a rare occurrence that can happen if the blade came out of production too flat (not enough arch/curvature). Sending me a replacement so hopefully that will solve the problem. Will post again when I have more info - about the replacement and/or the Ford templet comparison.
