Tire and wheel question

Hello All!

I was wondering what width of rim I should run with 305/70/16 tires. Should I use a 16x8 or a 16x10? I appreciate the help.

I've always thought the 10" rim is best for tire sizes over 300. Usually the tire manufacturer will give the recommended wheel width for thier tires, though.

I have run those w/stock rims, way to narrow, real squishy wobbly feel, I would probly go with 10's, then you can always go bigger in the future!

That tire is specified to be on a 9.0 inch wide wheel. Variants show as a 8.0 or 9.5. Since virtually nobody makes a 9.0 inch wheel, you could use either 8.0 or 10. I would probably use the 8.0 since the 10's will exert more stress on lower ball joints, wheel bearings, etc (they typically will have about 3 to 4 inches backspacing). On the flip side, the tire will probably have a flatter footprint and wear better on the 10. The long and short of it, the 305/70R-16 is kind of an oddball size and may end up obsolete at some point.
