If I'm posting in the wrong place sorry.
I had a bad clunk when making a turn and looked under my 92 Aerostar.
A part was broke off.
After finding your forum and after reading lots of post I found out what the part was.
Sway bar so I bought end replacement kit from Napa for under $12.00.
This was a very easy fix for an old guy of 57.
Anyway A big Thanks to all for sharing, and I hope I may be of help
to some of you at some time.
I wish I had only heard a clunk when mine broke @ 187K. miles. The road I was to turn on came up a lot sooner thatn expected. In retrospect I should have just gone past it and came back. The sway bar link broke in going into the hard turn. I've never been so close to rolling a vehicle before, but everything "turned" out OK. These vans are definitely not sports cars, especially without a sway bar. I will try to look at the links during preventive maint. from now on, or just change again when the van hits 20 yrs. old

Just for general info (from personal experience).....When replacing the bushings on the links, spend the extra 10 bucks and get the new links. I replaced only the bushings on my 91. I did notice a little rust on the old links, but cleaned it off pretty well. Two days after the repair I hit a chuckhole. After investigating noises under the front end I discovered that both of the old links had sheared off at the threads. I guess the old saying still goes: Do it right the first time.........
