ALL Excursions, all years, with gas engines are 2 valve.

They never made the upgrade for the Excursions.

yomow, just to let you know for future referances, the last 6 of your vin is just the consecutive unit number in which they came off the assembly line. all the info to tell you about the truck is in the rest of the vin.

1buzzbait, i dont know who told you that you need the last 6 of the vin to get that kind of info, they are wrong.

I WOULD NEVER POST THAT INFO OUT ON THE NET AGAIN. BUT THATS JUST ME. ITS LIKE PUTTING YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER FOR ALL TO SEE

Juts for my own understanding; what could possibly happen by posting your VIN?

Guess the same question applies to people who post pics of thier trucks and block off the plate numbers. Silly really...thousands of people on the road see your plate just as anyone can get your VIN when you are parked.

Since a person's identity and financial life is tied (unfortunantly) to a SSN, I can see why that needs to be kept private.

im 99.9999999999999% sure that only the super duty trucks have the new motor. all excursions have the 2 valve. not sure about the trans though, the diesel thing throws me off.

The Excursion never got the 3v V10 or the Torqshift tranny with the V10. It still uses the 4R100 for all gas engines.

In 03 it got the 6.0L diesel and Torqshift tranny.

3v V10s are only in 05+ Super Duty trucks and 06+ van chassis cabs.

Now here's a weird one... the Torqshift is mated to a 2V V10 in the E-350 vans. Go figure. Wish they woulda at least done that for us 05 Excursion owners.
