63/64 Grille

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 05-Apr-02 AT 01:37 PM (EST)]I've come across several F-series trucks both in photos (including the User Gallery here) and on the street that are listed as '63s and appear to have what I would identify as a '64 grille (floating rectangles as opposed to floating single bars). Any explanation for this? Was there a mid-model change at Ford or are these just replacement grilles?

63/64 Grille

my 63 Unibody CC has an aluminum 64 grill in it. The build date is April 63.

Thanks, truckfarmer. Sounds like there's some evidence of a mid-model year change at Ford. Is this common to other year models?

There is a set of photos posted on the "Picture Gallery" (not the User Gallery) of a very nice uni-body shortbed "'62" with a '63 grille.
